Peak Theatre Players | Upcoming Events

Just like everyone else, Peak Theatre Players are in COVID 19 limbo.
Shows have been planned, postponed, cancelled, planned, postponed…

2021 is our 40th anniversary year and we maintain hope that we can celebrate with all our friends early next season.
We are eagerly anticipating the time when we can all be together again.
That darn COVID 19! Date tentatively May 2021

Mom's Gift by Phil Olson
Mom's Gift was intended as our Christmas show last December, but like Be Here Now
which was to have been staged last spring, the global pandemic scuttled our plans.

We have some vague hope that we may still be able to perform this lovely play late this spring, but time will tell!

Description: Mom has been dead for 11 months and shows up at her husband’s birthday party as a ghost with a mission. Like Clarence in It’s A Wonderful Life, she has to accomplish a task to earn her wings. Only what the task actually is, is a mystery. There are so many things to fix. The problem is complicated by the fact that the only person who can hear or see Mom is her daughter who has been ordered by the court to spend Dad’s birthday with him as part of her Anger Management Program. One by one the family's secrets are peeled away revealing a shocking truth that surprises even our ghost. (Concord Theatricals)

Auditions

There are presently no auditions scheduled, but please check back from time to time.

  • Several months before we stage a play, we hold auditions to select the best available cast for the production.
  • Typically, we advertise via email several weeks before, describing the script and the cast required.
  • Auditions are usually "cold readings" which means that the director selects representative passages for the readings, briefly describes the scene and characters and the actors take their best shot at doing a decent reading.
  • It's all very low-pressure, and can be a lot of fun.
  • Soon afterwards, casting is announced (via email) and rehearsals commence.

Workshops

There are presently no workshops scheduled, but please check back from time to time.

  • Periodically, we host theatre workshops on topics such as acting, directing, production, make up or playwrighting which are advertised via email and are open to the public.
  • Participants are encouraged to register in advance.
