Disney's NEWSIES
A Musical based on the Disney Film
Sundre’s B. S. Productions announces their next production: Disney’s NEWSIES. Six performances are scheduled February 13-22, 2026 at the Sundre Arts Centre.
Newsies is an energetic and challenging show, with a compelling story based on the New York City newsboys' strike of 1899. It’s full of irresistible music, strong characters, and lots of dancing.
B. S. Productions will be recruiting a cast of actors, singers, and dancers, ages 10 - adult. There are important and rewarding roles for everyone, including for two principals (1 male, 1 female) ages 17-20. BSP encourages you to audition: whether or not you have onstage experience. The most important qualifications are enthusiasm, empathy, and a confident singing voice — prior vocal training is not required.
Introductory Music Theatre Workshop: Sunday, August 24, 2025 | 2:00-4:00pm
Auditions for all roles: September 24-27, 2025
First rehearsal: October 5, 2025
Performances: February 13-22, 2026
Under the direction of Brian Bailey and Jamie Syer, B. S. Productions has been producing musical theatre at the Sundre Arts Centre since 2016. They are pleased to feature Newsies during their tenth season and delighted to collaborate again with lead choreographers Wendy Read and Lynley Hall.
